DRAsia visits the project Prevention of sexual abuse in Cambodia

The evaluation will give the community, the staff and the stakeholders, an opportunity to evaluate for themselves what has been achieved.

From 17-27 February, 2009, Anais Pagès, the Project Coordinator for the Delegation of Asia of BICE, will conduct the mid-term evaluation of the CCBO project "Prevention of and recovery from child sexual abuse through the promotion of resilience", in Sihanoukville, Cambodia.

Promotion of resilience and empowerment of the communities (children, families, professionals, authorities) to take responsibility for the well-being of all children and offer the most supportive environment for development of its members, are at the foundation of the projects implemented by BICE in conjunction with CCBO (Community Child Based Organisation) in Sihanoukville.

The evaluation will give the community, the staff and the stakeholders, an opportunity to evaluate for themselves what has been achieved. It will be facilitated by two consultants from EXIL, an organisation specialised in the medial and psychosocial support of victims of violence with an emphasis on community and social support network. The evaluation will identify new opportunities and challenges and get new views and strategies for better development, for improved services and for sustainable benefit. Finally a workshop on Resilience will be held for community animators and local authorities who are involved in the project.
